    The internet activist who became an international figure in 2011 when he successfully ignited the pro-democracy demonstrations in Egypt that has seen Hosni Mubarak's 30 year rule fall from grace. He is also the Head of Marketing of Google Middle East and North Africa.

     
     

    2. Joseph Stiglitz

    An American economist and Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences receiver. His unique theories will be remembered for a long time, as he delivered a better understanding of the management of globalization, free-market economists and institutions like the IMF and the World Bank, supporting peace and prosperity.

    3. Julian Assange

    The once anonymous Australian cybergeek and a journalist. He is the editor in chief of WikiLeaks, the whistleblower website that caused controversy around the globe by releasing insider information about governments and institutions. Secrets will never be safe again.

     
     

    4. Reed Hastings

    An entrepreneur who pioneered the DVD-by-mail business, Netflix. His innovation changed how the entertainment business reaches its audience and how that audience is able to access content. Reed has figured out that giving clients what they want and how they want it is the business model of the future.

    5. Mark Zuckerberg

    An American computer programmer and internet entrepreneur who co-created the social networking giant Facebook which changed the way people interact in the 21st century. As of 2011, his personal wealth is estimated to be $13.5 billion.

     
     

    6. Mahmoud Jibril

    The Libyan politician, who is currently serving as the Prime Minister of Libya and Chairman the National Transitional Council who took charge of transforming Libya into a democratic country. On Sunday 11th of September 2011, he announced that the transitional government has resumed the country's oil production, paying civil servants' salaries and improved the national security.

    7. Peter Vesterbacka

    A game developer who invented Angry Birds, the puzzle video game of which over 12 million copies were sold. The game became so popular that it prompted Apple to design versions of the game for other touchscreen-based smartphones.

     
     

    8. Angela Merkel

    A German politician who is the first woman leader of a major continental European power. She used her extraordinary talents to maintain the delicate balance of Germany's coalition. Alongside French President Nicolas Sarkozy, she worked tirelessly to steer Europe through the financial crisis. Her personal style combined with Germany's search for consensus has earned her country great influence around the world.

    9. Ai Weiwei

    The Chinese contemporary artist who has been highly and openly critical of the Chinese Government's stance on democracy and human rights. He has investigated government corruption and cover-ups, in particular school corruptions. In 2011, he was arrested at Beijing airport and then held for over two months without any official charges being filed.

     
     

    10. Dilma Rousseff

    The current President of Brazil and the first woman to hold the office. Brazil is currently living a unique moment in its history with record growth levels and as such, Dilma offers a virtuous combination of wisdom and conviction that her country currently needs. She is a courageous fighter who stood up to social equality and women's rights.
